Plaice Spreaders ,allows 2 baits to be presented on the bottom often catching 2 Plaice each drop on the boat! The rig is great for drifting over areas of mussel beds and sand banks. Also The different colours in the range can have different catch rates in different areas. Normally over a patch of mussel bed the killer black and orange, black and green, and black and yellow will work very effectively. Whereas over an area of sand more vibrant colours are effective such as Black and white or yellow and red. But colour is a matter of choice with fairly small differences in catch rate over the colours. The Ideal way in which to fish the ultimate Brill , plaice and turbot rig is to have 6-8inch snoods coming from each end of the spreader to a size 2-2/0 Aberdeen hook, such as a kamasan or sakuma hook will be fine for this. Ideal bait for the plaice is rag worm as it is a wriggling site bait which the plaice, brill and turbot often find irresistible along with the spreader rig making the bait look even more attractive.
